ABOUT ME
Some years ago, a friend told me about Lourdes in France and that sometimes seriously ill people are miraculously healed there. I noted this with much interest but it was not enough to rush there immediately. Next summer, I decided to travel around in France with me bicycle and I thought that I would probably pass by Lourdes, which I finally did but I had no exact idea what exactly happened at this place. When I learned that Saint Mary appeared to the young girl Bernadette in 1858, I was deeply moved although I was usually skeptical towards supernatural stuff. But I trusted those news because of the blessed atmosphere, the immense crowd of friendly people who go there to find peace, physical or spiritual healing and renewal of their faith. I had a good and confident feeling from the start. Back in my country in Switzerland, I read books about other apparitions of the Virgin Mary and was very surprised that I never heard about apparitions before. I also found books about Medjugorje. I couldn't believe that Saint Mary was appearing somewhere on this Earth right now... This time, these news were reason enough to rush to Medjugorje immediately. I stayed there about one week and also spoke shortly with Maria, one of the seers. I was very moved during all this time. After that, I tried to understand the apparitions theologically. However, I was not interested in studying theology at university because I need to be absolutely free in my opinion and faith, in spite of my loyal attachment to the Catholic doctrine. In addition, by doing my own studies, I could concentrate myself on the subjects I was interested in. Furthermore, theologians are mostly very hostile to apparitions and other miraculous stuff, so I would certainly have been isolated and discouraged within this academic environment. In short, with my own studies I could bypass all those inconveniences and freely study Marian apparitions and related topics such as salvation history, Genesis, Revelation without exterior pressure. I consider this very important because new ideas need to have a hypothetical ground at first. If this ground is contaminated by controversies, harsh critic and even contempt, new theories even cannot germinate. The result of these studies are the pages published on this site. They are not perfect, of course, and sometimes rather speculative. Many things could still be added, ameliorated and modified. Especially to write it in English was not evident to me as my usual languages are German and French. It took me several years because I had to read what others have written about the different topics. It was a time during which I normally should have been at university. However, I felt that I had to write my text although I was often in doubt whether I was doing the right thing. After that, I was making up what I neglected during this time, that is studying physics. I master graduated on May 07 and worked then as a teacher.
